ADVENTURES FAQ

  1. Is there a MINIMUM NUMBER of people for participating in the expeditions?
Yes. We suggest leaving with a minimum of 4 passengers, in order to minimize the trip costs. However, we also offer trips for 2 people and also, in case it is the wish of the clients, we try toform a group putting together more persons for a same trip.

  2. I SHALL TRAVEL ALONE, how do I book a place in one of the expeditions?
We will try to fit the “”solitary” passenger into some outing already booked within the availabletime period.

  3. Is there the possibility of dismissing the driver, and the PASSENGER HIM/HERSELF
    CONDUCTING THE JEEP?

No. In the off-road itineraries the conduction of the jeeps is only allowed for our staff, which isexperienced and trained for off-road conduction. For safety reasons, we do not offer trip modes where the tourist rents our Land Rovers to conduct it him/herself.

  4. Is there any AGE RESTRICTION for the off-road itineraries?
No. We only warn passengers that due to the own nature of the trip, it is necessary that thepassenger be in a good state of health and disposition for facing the peculiar conditions of an ecologic itinerary. We have had passengers ranging from 01 to 80 years of age that enjoyed the trip very much.

  5. Are there MOSQUITOS or even the RISK OF CONTRACTING ANY DISEASE in the
    visited destinations?

As we live in a tropical country, and since our itineraries have the profile of an authentic ecotourism trip, there is always the possibility of facing mosquitoes and other small animals typical of the natural environments, but nothing that would be really bothersome or that might bring serious health risks. We have recently had a dengue outbreak in the Northeast, a disease caused by the mosquito “aedes egypts”, however the disease occurs basically in the outer limits of the urban zones – in beach zones the risk is practically null. It remains only the possibility of sunstroke due to excessive sun exposition, nausea from boat rides or any eventual gastric indisposition.

  6. ARE THE OFF-ROAD RIDES DONE TOTALLY THROUGH THE SEASHORE?
No. Due to tide conditions, to the geography of our coast, to the climate and trip safety, certain trip portions are made by asphalt or dust roads.

  7. ON AVERAGE, HOW MUCH TIME DO WE SPEND IN THE JEEP?
The time varies from a few minutes to several hours, depending on factors such as trip schedule, technical stops, some special passenger need, etc.

  8. ARE THESE TRIPS THE “RADICAL” TYPE?
No. We offer light adventure trips: of leisure and nature contemplation. We do not incur in unnecessary risks, nor do we seek to transfer danger sensations to passengers.

  9. Why is the BAGGAGE LIMIT 10kg per passenger?
This limit is imposed due to the difficulty in storage of large baggage in the jeeps and, specially, because in itineraries such as the Rota das Dunas (Fortaleza-Jericoacoara-Parnaíba Delta-Lençóis Maranhenses- São Luís, 8 days/7 nights) we use motor boats and small planes (mono or double engine planes, depending on availability) which do not stand excessive baggage, especially rigid luggage, such as the ones made of fiber. We therefore suggest the use of backpacks due to it being practical and of compact size. In case the passenger has many days of traveling ahead, we suggest that he/she leaves the baggage excess in his/her hotel storage in Fortaleza or in the capital to which he/she will return, and bring with him/her only the essentials for the off-road itinerary.

  10. Are the airfares included?
No. According to the passenger’s desire, if the airfare tickets have not already been purchased or if you use some mileage plan, we can also take care of the airfare, just go to our ticket request form and make your request.

  11. When is the best time to go on these expeditions?
In general, it does not usually rain very much in the Northeast, which enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year. We only remind you that the months of December through May are considered the rainiest in the coast strip from Ceará to Maranhão, but in a sparse way, without major thunderstorms. In Rio Grande Norte, on the other hand, the rainfall usually starts in May and ends in September.
