DIVING IN NORONHA
Your Summary
The archipelago of Fernando de Noronha is the top of an extinct volcano whose steep sliding slopes reach the Atlantic Ocean floor some 4300 meters below sea level. The small group of islands lies four hundred kilometers east of Natal, a few degrees south of the equator and amidst the turbulence zone of the southern Ross barrier reefs. Being perfectly located where the cold waters of the south Atlantic join the warm currents of the equatorial belt, Fernando de Noronha forms a natural resting place for whales and dolphins alike.
